Regions of the World

The Badlands

The region of Methoria called The Badlands makes up the southeastern coast of the world. Some claim that it was formed when The Sea of Amnesia receded and left this track of salty land; some say that it is the sight of an ancient river bed; but nevertheless no plants are said to grow here or animals roam. It is bordered on the north by the Jodiac Desert; the west by Pindoor Forest; the far west by The Silver Desert; and the south and east by The Sea of Amnesia.

The Forest is made up of large Pines that are rumored to reach heights of hundreds of feet in some areas. The Elven Forest is bordered on the north by The Black Mountians; the east by The Fendor Mountains; the south by The Marshlands.

It is believed to have once been lush and green in The Golden Age, but the area now contains only sand, rock, and ruins of a time long past. It is bordered on the north by The Marshlands; the west by The Grasslands; the south by The Badlands; and the east by The Sea of Amnesia.

The Marshlands

The Marshlands: The region of Methoria called The Marshlands is believed to have been once part of The Elven Forest. Some claim that this was the part of the forest that was burned during The Great Winter, but many authorities believe that The Marshlands were created thousands of years ago when the area and a great part of the world was flooded. The terrain consists of flooded patches of land with a scattering of dead trees. The trees are killed when they reach a large size by a moss that grows in their branches. There are areas of tall grass and patches of foggy mist that always seem to be present all leading to a strong belief that the region is haunted. It is bordered on the north by The Elven Forest; the west by the Fendor Mountains and The Grasslands; the south by the Jodiac desert.

The Orclands

The region of Methoria called the Orclands was believed to have once been lush with grass and trees, but since The Great Winter this region has been transformed to something very similar to The Badlands. It makes up the northwestern part of the world. In this area often called The Wastelands, it is said that no life exists except for the Orcs and the similar races that share that kingdom. Before The Great Winter, the region was part of the Kingdom of Fendor, although sparsly populated with Dwarves except near the mountain range. It is bordered on the northeast by the Fendor Mountains; the west by Dragonmyst Ocean; and the south by The Silivik Mountains.

Pindoor Forest

The region of Methoria called Pindoor Forest is in the south central part of the world. It is dense with oak trees and mystery. Many travellers who have strayed from The Mages Web have simply disappeared never to be seen again. Many believe that the forest was once home to the mysterous 'sagio benoi' who appeared with their 'scrolls of wisdom' to help establish the new age of Pendular. While many parts of the forest remain almost forbidden, three cities have been established there since before the Age of Pendular. The region is bordered on the north and west by The Grasslands; the east and south by The Badlands; and on the south west by The Silver Desert.

The Silver Desert

The region of Methoria called The Silver Desert makes up the southwestern part of the world. There is evidence in the ancient scrolls that indicate most of this area was also a desert in The Golden Age. This has always been a place scorned by most of the races. The Mages Web does not enter the desert except for the northern part of which it is believed once belonged to The Grasslands. The desert seems to be slowly growing in size. It is bordered on the north by The Grasslands; the east by Pindoor Forest and The Badlands; the south by The Sea of Amnesia; and the west by Dragonmyst Ocean. A series of desert islands juts out from the southern tip of The Silver Desert seperating Dragonmyst Ocean from The Sea of Amnesia.
